Assemblic Skin is an emerging Korean skincare offering modular (DIY) skincare for sensitive skin.

Project Goals

After struggling with inflamed, sensitive skin her entire life, Assembic Skin's founder, Dayoon Yoon, wanted to create a disruptive skincare line. One that offers Korean beauty and puts customers in the chemist's seat. She needed an American insider and copywriter to help her tap into the American mind and successfully launch in Los Angeles. Our project had three main goals in mind:

  • Nail down the brand name, messaging strategy, and taglines

  • Craft compelling website copy designed to simplify the brand's modular system process while encouraging repeat purchases and customer loyalty

  • Create a press kit that's ready to release when the brand launches

Strategy

The first step in our process was to nail down the brand's name. After research on competitors and key differentiators, we landed on "Assemblic Skin". From there, I delved into the modular skincare landscape to develop a series of taglines, like "Skincare made by you, for you," that clearly communicated the brand's modular system. We, then, mapped out the rest of the brand messaging and moved on to the website copy.  I proceeded to write five pages of website copy, including the homepage, about page, sales page, ingredient page, and the quiz flow. The final step was the press kit. I combined all of our brand strategy, messaging, and website copy into a compelling press kit featuring information on the company, the founder's bio, press release, and more. The result was a foundational launch copy and messaging strategy project that helped the brand successfully launch in the U.S. on June 16, 2025.
